Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett reacts to increased infant mortality rate

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett makes a call to action in response to the latest infant mortality numbers. According to the report, 117 infants died in Milwaukee before their first birthday in 2013.

Between 2011 and 2013, more than ten infants died for every one thousand live births. That's an increase from 2010 to 2012, which Mayor Barrett calls troubling. The data also points out a significant disparity between races. African-Americans infants have the highest mortality rates in Milwaukee.

Mayor Barrett says, \"It's something we didn't want to see, and we've made considerable progress in the last ten years, and so it's not something that we're pleased with.\"
