Milwaukee Mayor Speaks Out about Weekend's Unrest

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said he is proud of how police handled things.

“That doesn't mean that we are ignoring the underlying challenges we face as it pertains to poverty and homelessness and education and public safety. But I think that we can, and I hope that we do, take this chapter and turn it into something really positive for our city,” said Barrett.

Mayor Barrett also said the actions of a few do not reflect the Sherman Park Neighborhood.

He said it's the hundreds of residents who showed up Sunday morning to clean up that show Milwaukee's true colors.
