Milwaukee Mayor fuming over controversial voting bill

MILWAUKEE- The State Senate passed Senate Bill 324 on Wednesday morning and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett isn't happy.

He called the legislation despicable and politics at it's worst.

The bill proposes putting limits on in-person voting by absentee ballot to 45 hours per week, Monday through Friday, eliminating the option for voters to cast absentee ballots on the weekend.

Barrett and other Democrats believe the bill's intent is to make sure fewer lower income and minority voters get to the polls.

However, Republicans say it's about creating an equal playing field when it comes to elections.

SB 324 will now move to the Assembly.
