Milwaukee man sentenced to 27 years in prison for setting pregnant woman on fire

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man has been sentenced to 27 years behind bars for setting a pregnant woman on fire.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a house near 37th and Galena on Apr. 25, 2021. Police say a 29-year-old female was found conscious, breathing with burns on her face and hand.

Police heard the woman screaming for help in the shower.

The complaint states that 34-year-old Quinterrius Jones threw rubbing alcohol at the woman and set her on fire.

Police say that 60% of the woman's body was covered in third-degree burns.

Jones has been charged with three counts, including first-degree intentional homicide domestic abuse, first-degree reckless injury and attempted arson of a building.
