Milwaukee Man in a Rental Car Eluded Police on Highway with Headlights Off
A Milwaukee man was arrested after driving 90 mph and eluding police on US 45 with his headlights turned off.
According to Washington County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy on patrol noticed a vehicle speeding south bound on US 45 at 90MPH at 2:55am Tuesday morning.
As the deputy attempted to catch up to it, the vehicle’s headlights were turned off and exited on to Hwy 60.
The deputy initiated a pursuit on Hwy 60 and the driver, later identified as a 31-year-old Milwaukee man, continues to try to elude by excessive speed and turning off his headlights.
The driver eventually stopped on Hillside Road south of Hwy 60 after realizing it was a dead-end road. The driver, who has a valid driver’s license, was operating a rental car from Milwaukee.
The driver was arrested for felony eluding where he remains in custody at the Jail.
At the time of his arrest he was on lengthy probation restrictions including not possessing over $100 in cash on his person due to previous drug convictions.
At the time of his arrest he had $957.00 on his person and may also face additional bail jumping charges.
