Milwaukee man arrested, charged in homicide of transgender woman

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man wanted for the homicide of a transgender woman back in August has been taken into custody.

Clayton Hubbird, 31, is charged with first degree reckless homicide.

Police believe he fired the gun that killed Regina Allen, known as Mya by friends, outside her apartment at 26th and Wells on Aug. 29.

According to a criminal complaint, Hubbird picked up Allen after meeting her at a gas station on 19th and National. They traveled back to Allen's home, where officials say she was shot.

Allen would have celebrated her 36th birthday in September.

Court records show Hubbird's bond has been set at $250,000.

A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 11.
