Milwaukee man arrested after causing disturbance in a bar, leaving to grab gun from car

On July 9th shortly before midnight, the Sheboygan Police Department responded to the 1200 Block of N 10th Street, for a call of a disturbance where the suspect was reported to be in possession of a handgun.

The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

It was reported by numerous witnesses that a man started a disturbance with another man inside of the tavern and the victim was shoved to the ground by the suspect.

The victim was injured from the fall but did not seek medical attention.

After the disturbance, according to reports, the suspect went to a car and retrieved a handgun and paced back in forth in the street for a minute or two.

The suspect, a 33-year-old Milwaukee man, was located shortly after the disturbance in the 1500 block of Illinois Avenue, at a family member’s home.

He was taken into custody without incident and failed field sobriety tests.

A search warrant was conducted at the home and the firearm was recovered.

He was charged with OWI, Battery, Disorderly Conduct While Armed, and Endangering Safety by Use of a Dangerous Weapon, for being armed while intoxicated.

No other suspects are being sought by the police regarding the disturbance.
