Milwaukee leaders announce community listening sessions in effort to develop city-wide safety plan

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Mayor Cavalier Johnson joined Police Chief Jeffrey Norman and other leaders Wednesday in announcing a series of community listening sessions. 

The goal is to come up with a plan to make Milwaukee safer and to improve trust between police and the community. 

There will be 15 listening sessions, one in each aldermanic district, held on every fourth Saturday. 

They'll be held once a month and the first one is coming up on Saturday, July 23, from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Marquette University.

The locations for the future sessions are yet to be determined.
