MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Mark Davis, co-founder and artistic director at the Milwaukee Jazz Institute, joined us on Tuesday, Oct. 10 to discuss the rich jazz history of Milwaukee and the institute's dedication to advancing it.
Davis highlighted the organization's efforts, mentioning the 54 students in eight current ensembles and the 32 youth ensemble graduates.
Over the past three years, the institute has granted 86 scholarships, amounting to $20,100. Additionally, with 15 faculty members, the institute conducts weekly ensembles at the Jazz Gallery Center for the Arts, holds an annual summer jazz camp and engages the community through monthly jam sessions and free events.
