MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design will celebrate the grand opening of its first offsite gallery, MIAD Gallery at The Ave, with a public reception on April 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.
MIAD President Jeff Morin joined us on Monday, April 3 to discuss the significance of the gallery.
Located at 301 W. Wisconsin Ave. in The Avenue near the 3rd Street Market Hall, the gallery will host its inaugural exhibition, "From This Point Forward," from April 6 through July 1.
The exhibition showcases the works of 20 alumni spanning almost five decades, paying tribute to MIAD's predecessor, the Layton School of Art. The inaugural exhibition features a variety of mediums, including paintings, sculptures, ceramics, textiles and designed objects, showcasing the artists' regional, national, and international accomplishments.
