MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Home ownership is the key to a successful neighborhood and overall community.
On Tuesday, Dec. 29, Milwaukee hosted a groundbreaking for new homes in Walnut Circle and Josey Heights.
These homes will be built in city-developed subdivisions, and the owners of these future homes took advantage of the city's incentives for $1 lots and $30,000 forgivable grants.
"But the cornerstone of a community, what makes a community truly successful, is the homeownership -- supporting existing homeowners and welcoming new ones," said 15th District Alderman Russel W. Stamper, II.
These subdivisions follow a long line of a new home construction and investment in the area.
