Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival Begins with Fireworks

Downtown Milwaukee was bright and festive Thursday evening with two big holiday events.  First, the lighting of the City Christmas tree in front of City Hall. That's new location from Red Arrow Park in years past.

Then it was on to the annual Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival.  Huge crowds filled Pere Marquette Park. Some thought the crowd was substantially larger than in years past, maybe because of unusually mild temperatures.

R & B duet Robin & Carol performed.

Many families arrived early for the fireworks.

There were plenty of passengers aboard the $1 Jingle Bus that takes you to all the decorated sights.

The Milwaukee Festival of Lights includes Cathedral Square and Zeidler Union Square.
