MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The city of Milwaukee is encouraging you to explore the downtown area, but not on foot.
Wednesday afternoon, officials held a micro-mobility mixer at Red Arrow Park.
Besides several food trucks and live performances by a local music group, attendees were also able to speak with vendors from Bublr Bikes, and Lime and Spin scooters, about the pros of using this kind of transportation.
"We absolutely want to show people how easy it really is to get around downtown," said Erica Green, director of public space initiatives, MKE Downtown BID #21. "We're a very walkable downtown, that's something we hear from visitors and locals alike. But then when you need a little bit of extra speed or you want to get on some wheels, there are a ton of options for folks there as well."
The city says they will be holding more free community events later this month on Wednesday afternoons.
