Milwaukee gun violence activist dies unexpectedly at 51

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee activist against gun violence has passed away unexpectedly.

Hamid Abd-Al-Jabbar was the outreach supervisor for 414LIFE.

The director of Milwaukee's Office of Violence Prevention remembered him in a Facebook post Friday, Feb. 12.

Reggie Moore said Abd-Al-Jabbar was a "fearless, humble and effective leader."

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office does not believe he died from coronavirus.

Abd-Al-Jabbar was 51 years old.
