Milwaukee Film Festival to show 301 movies over the next 15 days

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The 2024 Milwaukee Film Festival kicks off tonight, Thursday, April 11, with 'Shari and Lamb Chop', a film about Shari Lewis and her sock puppet, Lamb Chop, that spanned across the decades. 

It will be followed by 300 other films. Film makers from around the world will be in Milwaukee to show off their craft. 

"You have great opportunities to go and talk to other film lovers in the lines," said Cara Ogburn. "We have panels that sort of open up the film-making experience and, of course, Q & As after films. At the multiplex on a weekend, you don't get to meet the film maker after the film and that's what a film festival really allows you to do." 

You can see films at four local theaters this year, including the newly re-opened Downer Theater beginning Friday afternoon.
