Visit Milwaukee preview: Jan. 9-11
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Megan O'Shea, communications manager with the Milwaukee County Zoo, joined us on Thursday, Jan. 8 to discuss the Samson Stomp run and walk coming up Sunday, Jan. 18.
Runners of all ages can choose from three timed distance routes: 5K, 2-mile and 1-mile. Participants will pass by animals while navigating around the zoo, according to O'Shea.
Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt and a day at the zoo. The 5K and 2-mile race costs $35 per runner or $30 per runner for teams. The kids' 1-mile costs $20 per runner.
The annual run honors Samson the silverback gorilla, who lived at the Milwaukee County Zoo from 1950 to 1981.
