Milwaukee County Zoo Announces Passing of Polar Bear

Milwaukee County Zoo announced on Tuesday polar bear Zero has died, according to the Zoo's Facebook page.

The 26-year-old male polar bear was born here in 1989, and transferred to the Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, NY in 2010, in the hopes of breeding. Based on necropsy findings, the pending diagnosis for Zero’s disorder is lymphoma, a form of cancer.

“He was a wonderful bear, and taught the message of conservation to countless numbers of Zoo visitors. He will not be forgotten,” posted the Zoo to its’ Facebook page.
