Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputy helps save overdose victim
MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputy is being credited with saving the life of a man who overdosed on Thursday.
The Sheriff’s Office says around 3:19 p.m. near 118th and Hampton, the deputy noticed a stopped car facing north.
The right turn signal was activated, but the car never merged into traffic.
When the deputy walked up to the car, he saw a man unconscious, with his foot on the brake, the keys in the ignition and the car still in drive. The deputy also noticed a freshly used needle in the victim’s hand.
The deputy then called for help and took the man out of the car. Authorities say the man was turning blue, had a weak pulse and labored breathing.
Additional deputies got to the scene and administered Narcan. After the sixth dose, the victim responded and was taken to a local hospital.
