Milwaukee County inmate attack caught on video

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke speaks out after video of an inmate attack on a corrections officer is released to the public. 

Sheriff Clarke says attempted homicide suspect Leopold Santos-Fernandez entered an officers only zone marked by red lines. He explains entering this area is considered aggresive behavior. When told to leave the area Fernandez, and that's when his attack against corrections officers began.

As the fighting between Fernandez and corrections officers, other inmates retreated to their cells. During the struggle officers tried to taser him, but the prongs never pierced his skin. Fernandez was eventually subdued by three corrections officers.

All three officers sustained minor injuries in this incident.
