MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County leaders are projecting a large budget deficit heading into next year.
Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley outlined the situation during a virtual budget open house Tuesday, Aug. 25. Crowley asid the county faces a $42 million deficit in 2021. That will likely mean more cuts to county services.
Crowley said that since 2012, the county has already enduring $270 million in cuts.
"This averages out to about $30 million per year, which is more than the entire tax levy funding for parks department, district attorney's office and emergency management combined," Crowley said.
County officials want your thoughts on next year's budget before a final proposal is released.
