MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Flavor Live is spotlighting Indian cuisine later this month with a one-night event featuring chef and cookbook author Ruta Kahate, the owner of Ruta's Fresh Indian Fare at 207 W Freshwater Way in Milwaukee.
She joined us on Tuesday, Sept. 1, to discuss her upcoming appearance at Madame Kuony’s Demonstration Kitchen at the Milwaukee Public Market.
The program, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 5:30 p.m., will feature a live demonstration and tastings of dishes from Kahate’s cookbook "6 Spices, 60 Dishes." The menu includes Devil’s Dung Potatoes, millet with cashews and a green bean peanut salad.
Each session in the Milwaukee Flavor Live series combines food and storytelling, giving audiences a chance to learn from local chefs while sampling dishes tied to their heritage. Tickets are limited for the one-night-only events.
