Milwaukee Art Museum offering free admission on April 28

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Art Museum is opening its doors for free admission on Friday, April 28, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., in honor of the late Dr. Alfred Bader.

Dr. Bader was a chemist, philanthropist, art collector, while also being a member and donor of the Milwaukee Art Museum. Bader Philanthropies is sponsoring the special event, which marks Dr. Bader's 99th birthday.

Visitors can take a self-guided tour to explore European paintings from the museum's collection, pieces that the museum noted in a press release were acquired thanks to Dr. Bader's support.

Since becoming a Museum Member in 1952, Dr. Bader's contributions included funding the inaugural role of The Isabel and Alfred Bader Curator of European Art in 2013.

Bader Philanthropies recently established the Isabel and Alfred Bader European Art Program Endowment Fund, providing permanent support for the museum's Isabel and Alfred Bader Curator of European Art and strengthening the institution as a civic, cultural and educational resource for the community.
