MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee area woman was called up on stage at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater Friday night to play bass with The Killers, and it was all thanks to a sign she made.

Hannah Webber says she’s still in shock that she was jamming on stage with her favorite band, The Killers on Friday. The 24-year-old Milwaukee County woman was in the front row with a sign that said, “Been here since 6 a.m. to ask: Can I play bass with you on ‘For Reasons Unknown’?”

The Killers lead singer Brandon Flowers saw the sign and invited her up on stage.

“This is Hannah from Milwaukee,” he said to the crowd of thousands inside the American Family Insurance Amphitheater.

Webber went up on stage and rocked it, the crowd even chanting her name. The woman plays bass for her church group and was blown away by the experience.

“They were the ones who inspired me to play bass so to be able to play with them, I can’t even fully wrap my mind around it,” Hannah Webber said.

Webber’s mom was in the crowd capturing the moment she couldn’t believe was happening before her eyes.

“I was so numb my eyes were numbing with tears as I’m trying desperately to hold that phone perfectly still,” Jill Webber said.

Webber’s mother was, of course, proud of her daughter for lighting up the stage.

“I couldn’t believe that was my daughter up there with her idols in front of 22,000 people who are chanting her name at the end," Jill Webber said. "It was the most amazing thing I could ever imagine happening."

For a girl whose ‘got soul’, Friday night’s concert at Summerfest was an incredible moment she’ll never forget.

“I think my life is in two segments before and after this show,” Hannah Webber said.
