Milwaukee apartment fire forces residents out of homes, building deemed 'uninhabitable'

MILWAUKEE, (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Fire Department officials say a number of residents have been displaced after an afternoon apartment fire on Sun. Jun. 1.

The fire started at around 11:40 a.m., near 45th and Hampton Ave. 

CBS 58 News was on scene as crews were putting out the fire.

MFD says there were no injuries, and that the cause of the fire is under investigation. 

For residents that need help with assistance, the Red Cross has set up a shelter at St. Paul Lutheran Church along Wisconsin Ave. 


This marks the second apartment that forced Milwaukee residents out of their home on Sunday, as MFD crews battled another fire near 87th and Villard Ave.: Number of residents displaced after early morning Milwaukee apartment fire
