Milwaukee Admirals' season ends in Game 6 loss

PALM DESERT, Calif. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Admirals were unable to overcome a two-goal deficit in game six of the Western Conference Finals, falling 4-3 to the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Monday, June 5.

The defeat marks the end of the Admirals' deepest playoff run since 2006.

The Admirals scored three times to narrow the gap but were unable to score an equalizer. Admirals' scorers included Michael McCarron, Adam Wilsby and Kiefer Sherwood, with goalie Devin Cooley stopping 17 shots.

For the Firebirds, the game began favorably with Alex True and Ryker Evans securing a 2-0 lead in the first intermission. Tye Kartye later added two more goals, which secured the Firebirds' lead.

The Coachella Valley Firebirds will go on to meet the Hershey Bears in the Calder Cup Finals.
