MFD: 2 people injured in fire near 29th and Townsend

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two people were injured in a fire that happened near 29th and Townsend in Milwaukee. 

Fire officials were called to the scene on Thursday, Jan. 20, around 10 a.m. 

Milwaukee police say a 73-year-old Milwaukee man sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. 

A 53-year-old Milwaukee man sustained non-fatal injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. 

The house was severely damaged in the fire, and it may be a total loss. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Police say it appears to be accidental.
