MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Milwaukee Fire Department says two people were hurt in a house fire early Monday morning.
Crews were called around 2:40 a.m. to a home near S. 11th St. and W. Oklahoma Ave. for a basement fire.
One person was rescued from the first floor and taken to the hospital. Authorities say another person was hurt after trying to kick in a window.
At this time, it is not known if there were working smoke detectors in the home.
The fire remains under investigation.
