Mequon man sentenced to life in prison for homicide of Rosalio Gutierrez

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- A Mequon man was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for the death of Rosalio Gutierrez.

In March, a jury found Zachariah Anderson, 42, guilty of stalking, first-degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse.

Investigators say he was the ex-boyfriend of Gutierrez's girlfriend and killed him out of jealousy.

They say Anderson killed Gutierrez in his apartment in 2020 and then burned his body in Ozaukee County.

Investigators say a cadaver dog found remnants of clothing in one of the burn pits that matched the clothing Gutierrez was last known to be wearing.

Court records show Anderson will be eligible for extended supervision after serving 50 years.
