Menasha Teen Beats Homeless Man to Near Death

MENASHA (WFRV) One teen was taken into custody after police say he beat a homeless man nearly to death in the Town of Menasha.

At 11:19 p.m. on Wednesday, officers were sent to a motel room in the 2000 block of Holly Road after receiving a report of a man severely beaten and thought to be dead. The report also stated that there was also drug and alcohol use and underage persons in the room.

When police and paramedics arrived to the scene, they were greeted by three men. The men told police that they saw another man lying in the bathroom, injured and unresponsive. 

The victim, a 37-year-old homeless man, was transported to an area hospital where he remains hospitalized. 

After an investigation, police say that a 16-year-old boy was responsible for the injuries to the man. The boy was taken into custody and is being held in secure detention.

The investigation is ongoing.
