WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Memorial Walk for those who have lost loved ones to drug overdoses is set for Saturday, May 24 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Greenfield Park, picnic area No. 2.
Organizer Vicky Van Lare, who joined us on Thursday, April 30, says the event aims to reduce stigma around addiction and create a supportive space for those who are grieving. The walk will include a memorial board with photos, angel wing crafts and educational resources.
Van Lare also runs Roxz's Resources and Awareness, which provides pet food and supplies to people who took in a loved one's animals after an overdose death, as well as to those in recovery whose pets help support their sobriety.
