Members of Brown Deer Police to travel to Ukraine, will teach, share law enforcement experiences

BROWN DEER, Wis. (CBS 58) – Several members of the Brown Deer Police Department are traveling to Ukraine next month to share law enforcement knowledge and experiences.

The Wisconsin law enforcement officers will meet with the National Police of Ukraine from November 14-22 in different parts of the country. They will introduce Ukrainian regional police to peer support, Critical Incident Stress Management Intervention and police chaplaincy response programs.

According to Brown Deer Police, the political and economic climate, military conflicts and other factors in the country contribute to the need for the programs in Ukraine.

The team is hoping to raise money to offset travel costs. A GoFundMe has been set up for the trip.
