Milwaukee shootings leave 1 dead, 3 injured within 3-hour timespan Tuesday

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating three separate shootings that left one dead and three injured within a span of three hours Tuesday, March 21.

Officers responded to a double shooting near 26th and Capitol around 1:41 p.m.

Police say an unidentified man was fatally shot, and a 41-year-old Milwaukee man was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.

Around 2:35 p.m., a 32-year-old Milwaukee man summoned assistance from the Milwaukee Fire Department after he was shot near 36th and North Avenue. He was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and was said to be in critical condition.

A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested, and charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days. Authorities continue to seek an additional unknown suspect.

Police say around 4:20 p.m., they responded to 96th and Allyn for a victim struck by a bullet that entered her home.

Officials say the 66-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital with non-fatal injuries. An investigation is ongoing.
