MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two people are dead after a murder-suicide on the city's north side.

Officers were called to 12th and Concordia around 5:30 p.m. Sunday night, Feb. 15.

According to the medical examiner's office, 24-year-old John Michael Angelo Childress Jr. and 27-year-old Xavier Smith were both found dead at the scene.

It's believed Smith shot and killed Childress Jr. before shooting himself.

We spoke with a neighbor who was caught off guard by the gunfire, claiming violence is not common in the area.

"It is a pretty quiet neighborhood, so it was kind of a shock when it did happen," neighbor Lyahel Avery said. "Just steer clear of the windows because nowadays you don't know where a bullet is gonna fly to, you know what I mean."

Police say they are not looking for any suspects.

An investigation remains ongoing.
