U.S. Coast Guard expects busy Memorial Day weekend on Lake Michigan
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An MCTS bus driver has a sweet friendship with a 4-year-old girl.
"As I come around the corner, up the hill, she'd be waving, she'd be shaking, and hopping up and down."
John Reed greets Sebastiana with a honk, wave, and a huge smile every morning.
Reed is changing routes and he'll no longer see the young girl and her mom Tracy. So, he came up with a thoughtful way to say goodbye to his favorite passengers.
"Good morning sweetie! Oh my gosh. How are you? I got you a card, I got you a coloring book, and there's something else in there for you." Their exchange can be heard captured on MCTS video.
John gave the little girl a card, coloring book, and stuffed animal to say "thank you" for brightening his day. Sebastiana's mom says that John had a larger impact on their lives than he knows.
"When he started driving our bus, my dad was sick and he had just gone into hospice, so this was a nice moment every morning, and I just want to thank you for her happiness, not just bringing you happiness,"
Tracy says their new bus driver is very sweet but he's no John.
