MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says a fatal assault at Bradford Beach on Sunday, June 12 was a random attack.

Authorities say there doesn't seem to be a connection between the suspect and the man that was killed.

Upon arrival, the victim was found on scene without a pulse and not breathing. 

Authorities say the attack happened around 9 p.m. The suspect was arrested on Monday following a witness statement.

"I want to ensure the people of Milwaukee County that Bradford Beach and all along Lincoln Memorial Drive is a safe place for people to go enjoy themselves," Milwaukee County Sheriff Earnell Lucas said. "We were present on Lincoln Memorial Drive at the time this occurred. It was just an unfortunate circumstance."

The victim's identity is not being released at this time. Lucas said charges will be presented to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office soon.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal assault at Bradford Beach. 

According to MCSO, deputies responded to Bradford Beach late Sunday night, July 12, for a reported battery. Upon arrival, the victim was found on scene without a pulse and not breathing. 

The Milwaukee Fire Department crews on scene performed life saving measures, but were unsuccessful. 

A suspect has been taken into custody. 

The investigation is active and ongoing.
