CUDAHY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Community Service Corps (MCSC) and North Shore Bank broke ground on their first-ever collaborative house build in Cudahy.
Made possible by a loan from North Shore Bank, the project is giving an opportunity to members of the service corps to practice their skills as they continue to kick start their careers within the trades industry.
"It's really a win win win, a lot of individuals that we work with would have never had the dream or been able to get on a job site, this allows them to get into an entry level position, learning right next to our veteran contractors that we have, and really just build up their resume," said Mike Consiglio, executive director for the Milwaukee County Service Corps.
Construction is expected to last throughout the summer.
Once the house is sold, the funds will go toward repaying the bank's loan with any remaining funds going toward continuing MCSC's mission.
