Mayor Barrett undergoes angioplasty

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett underwent an angioplasty after doctors found a blockage in his heart. Mayor Barrett was treated for exhaustion after completing a 20 kilometer run at the Petit Ice Center on December 8th.

The Mayor was taken to Froedtert Hospital where a series of tests were conducted. Doctors found a partial blockage around Mayor Barrett's heart, and conducted the angioplasty.

The mayor's office says Mayor Barrett is already back at work. He testified at a common council meeting.

Doctors recommend the mayor temporarily takes a break from running.
