MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Sade Robinson and Amari Smith will be awarded posthumous degrees at this weekend's MATC commencement ceremony, according to the college.

Both Robinson and Smith would have completed their degrees in May.

At a memorial service last week, on what would have been Sade Robinson's 20th birthday, her mother said the family will be there to accept Sade's degree on her behalf.

The Milwaukee Area Technical College says Sade Robinson had been enrolled as a criminal justice studies student.

Amari Smith, who was killed by a driver fleeing police in February, was studying to become a barber, according to his family. 

The college says Smith's family will also be accepting his degree on his behalf.
