MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Lunar New Year kicks off Tuesday, and as people are wondering what's in store for The Year of the Horse, cities across the world are joining in on the festivities, including right here in Milwaukee.
At Milwaukee Area Technical College, students and staff participated in New Year's customs. One staff member says the two-week celebration is all about taking time to be with your loved ones.
"The importance of Chinese culture is celebration of your family," said Christiane Leung, web design specialist. "It is also important to relax during the 14-to-15-day celebration in China and to enjoy the time with friends and family as much as possible."
According to Chinese culture, The Year of the Horse will bring good fortune in both your work and family life.
