MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The subject of gun violence came up when District Attorney John Chisholm spoke at MATC Monday.
Chisholm talked to students about crime in the city and suburbs. He said one thing gun violence victims and suspects have in common is they come from almost the exact same background. They’ve both been victims in the past.
“If you have lots of guns available and you’ve got this environment that causes conflict and can happen just spontaneous just like that, then you’re gonna have a lot of opportunities quite frankly for resolution of conflict by using firearms and using violence,” Chisholm said.
Chisholm also told students there has to be a relationship of trust between law enforcement and the community it serves.
