MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Marquette Police are searching for two suspects who attempted to rob two students with a gun.
Police say a male and female student were walking near 19th and Kilbourn when a man and woman approached them just before 8:00 p.m. Thursday night.
The man then showed a gun in his waistband and demanded money.
The students didn’t give the suspects any money and the two suspects ran away.
Fortunately, the students were not injured.
Students and those who live nearby say they get alerts about crimes like this too often.
“We get them every once in a while and it’s always disappointing when we see them, but it does happen around here just because of the area around here but it’s disappointing,” Marquette Student Paul Gagne said.
“I know that there’s blue lights Marquette has on campus so it tries to keep the students a little safer,” Marie Crowe said, who is a former Marquette student and lives nearby.
If you have any information, you are urged to call the Marquette Police Department.
