Marquette loses to NC State 67-58 in Sweet 16

DALLAS, TX (CBS 58) -- Marquette's first trip to the Sweet 16 in more than a decade, results in a loss.

The Golden Eagles could not find much of an offensive rhythm at all in a 67-58 defeat at the hands of NC State.

From the field, the Golden Eagles shot 20-60, but beyond the arc was the real struggle at just 4-31 for a season low 12.9%.

Kam Jones got into double figures with 20 points, 15 coming in the second half. Tyler Kolek paced the Golden Eagles for most of the way with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and matched a season-low 3 assists.

The Wolfpack were led by 19 points from DJ Horne.

Marquette finishes the season 27-10 in its third trip to the NCAA Tournament under Shaka Smart in three years.
