Marcus purchases Safehouse

Marcus Corporation has purchased the Safehouse in downtown Milwaukee.

Marcus Corporation told CBS 58's Michael Schlesinger a change in the guard really shouldn't impact visitors too much.

Peggy Williams-Smith works for the Marcus Corp, and she has been coming here for 20 years. So she knows very well this spy-themed, iconic restaurant Dave Baldwin created in the 1960s. She insists the ambience won't change.

\"In 49 years the Baldwins have added to the mystique but never changing the DNA or removing anything. Way we're going to head,\" Williams-Smith said.

The patrons Schlesinger spoke with are glad the overall theme won't change here.

\"Love Burt Reynolds in the bathroom. Touch Burt Reynolds? Not doing that again,\" said Kay Potter from Muskegon, Mich.

The new owners do say there will be some menu changes starting in July. The Marcus Corp has 44 other restaurants it runs nationwide and all the hotels like the Pfister in town. They say their reputation will only add to this one.

The password to get into the restaurant will not change.
