MAYVILLE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A manufacturing section of Mayville was one of the hardest hit areas during storms that rolled through on Thursday, May 15. Both Gleason Reel and Mayville Manufacturing had concrete walls torn down and metal debris thrown hundreds of feet away.

Trees were ripped out of the ground, and cars were also damaged by high winds and falling concrete.

Loran Marmes is the maintenance director at Mayville Manufacturing. He says he's just glad no one was injured.

"I'm OK. I'm just glad everyone's safe, and we've got a lot of work to do now to get the building safe and get people back to work so they can take care of themselves and their families," said Marmes.

Cleanup crews already started removing debris Friday morning. Structural engineers are also expected to stop by and make sure the building is safe for people to enter.

As of early Friday, Mayville Manufacturing is closed until damage can be fixed. The business employs about 600 people, including many who live in Dodge County.

Marmes believes a tornado is responsible for the damage.

"I'm pretty convinced. I don't know what else would do this," he said.

We are waiting on the NWS to confirm where and if tornadoes touched down in Dodge County.

"As you drive in, you see some of the houses that are wiped out. You see the wood lines and trees are just gone. That's crazy to think about and hard to see. You see stuff on the news like that, and you don't really think it's going to impact you, and here we are," said Marmes.
