WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County man who led police on two different manhunts is going to prison.
Jonathan Pogreba was sentenced to seven years in prison, but he will get credit for the year he's already spent in jail. Pogreba will spend six years in prison, followed by another six years of extended supervision.
In June 2018, Pogreba got into an argument with his wife and threatened her with a gun at their home in the Town of Eagle. Their son intervened, firing shots at his father who then took off, sending authorities on a manhunt.
Police say Pogreba broke into a neighbor's house and stole their car and then broke into a cabin in the Northwoods.
About two weeks later he turned himself in but in November, he cut off his GPS monitor and went on the run again until police arrested him at a Mukwonago hotel.
Pogreba has been in custody ever since.
On Friday, he apologized for his actions.
"I could have never have imagined I've done so many reckless or hurtful or shameful things not only to myself but to my family. Those actions, despite what you heard, were not our normal life. I've spent my life trying to be a good father, husband, and a friend…and a good citizen," Pogreba said.
