Man turns himself in after fatal hit-and-run crash near 35th and Capitol

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An 18-year-old man turned himself in following a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened Friday, June 7 near 35th and Capitol. 

According to police, the fatal hit-and-run happened just before 11 p.m. on Friday. Officials say a driver was traveling westbound and made a right hand turn to go northbound on 35th Street when they struck a 33-year-old pedestrian attempting to cross the street. 

The driver then fled the scene. 

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver, according to police, later turned himself in and taken into custody. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
