Man struck and killed while crossing Highway 50 in Pleasant Prairie Friday night

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI (CBS 58) -- A 56-year-old Kenosha man was struck and killed by a vehicle as he was crossing State Highway 50 in Pleasant Prairie Friday night.    According to the Pleasant Prairie Police, the man whose identity is being withheld until family members have been notified, was crossing the highway on foot when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle.     The accident happened around 6:10 PM in the 8500 block of 75th Street.  The driver of the vehicle, a 44-year-old man from Kenosha, remained on the scene of the accident and cooperated with investigators.

Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue treated the man at the scene of the accident.     He was then transported to Froedtert South Medical Center where he later died.  

The Wisconsin State Patrol and the Pleasant Prairie Police Department investigated the accident.   According to a news release, neither speed nor alcohol appears to have been factors in the accident.
