Man struck and killed by train in Kenosha County

A man is dead after being struck by a Metra train in Pleasant Prairie Wednesday evening.

Pleasant Prairie police said its dispatch received a call from Union Pacific Railroad just after 7 p.m. November 26. The caller said a pedestrian had been hit by a train heading northbound near 90th Street and 8th Avenue in Carol Beach.

Emergency crews responded and found the victim's body. Police believe the victim is a white man, but his identity is still unknown. It's unclear if the incident was intentional or an accident. Police continue to investigate.

The Metra train was carrying passengers who were delayed for a while until a second train could come and pick them up.
