Man knocked unconscious by stranger who grabbed his friend's butt, police say

MADISON, Wis. - (WISC) A 26-year-old Chicago man was knocked unconscious after being sucker punched in downtown Madison Saturday night, police said.

The man confronted a stranger around 7:10 p.m. in the 600 block of University Avenue after the stranger aggressively grabbed the butt of the man's friend, a 20-year-old Madison woman, according to a release.

The 26-year-old man was telling the other man that the grabbing was unwanted, and the stranger punched him so hard he went to the ground and his head bounced off the concrete sidewalk, officials said.

The 26-year-old was taken to the hospital with facial injuries and damaged teeth, according to the release.

The stranger is described as a black man with a light complexion, 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and a backward red hat.

If a person can be identified as a suspect, he will be arrested for fourth-degree sexual assault and substantial battery, but as of right now police do not have a suspect.
