Man killed in single-vehicle crash in Manitowoc County

MANITOWOC COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 27-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Manitowoc County.

It happened around 8 p.m. in the 21000 block of Point Creek Road in the Town of Schleswig.

According to police, a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on Point Creek Road, when the vehicle left the roadway in a curve, entered a ditch, and hit a tree.

The driver, who has been identified as 27-year-old Kevin Wirth from the Town of Meeme, was ejected from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash, police say.
